Allâh mocks at them and gives them increase in their wrong-doings to wander blindly

أُوْلَـٰٓٮِٕكَ ٱلَّذِينَ ٱشۡتَرَوُاْ ٱلضَّلَـٰلَةَ بِٱلۡهُدَىٰ فَمَا رَبِحَت تِّجَـٰرَتُهُمۡ وَمَا كَانُواْ مُهۡتَدِينَ (١٦)
These are they who have purchased error for guidance, so their commerce was profitless. And they were not guided.

And when it is said unto them: believe as the people believe, they say: Shall we believe as the foolish believe? Beware! They indeed are the foolish? But they know not.

14	107	مُسْتَهْزِءُوْنَ	ap. those who scoff / sneer / laugh/mock

وَإِذَا لَقُواْ ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ قَالُوٓاْ ءَامَنَّا وَإِذَا خَلَوۡاْ إِلَىٰ شَيَـٰطِينِهِمۡ قَالُوٓاْ إِنَّا مَعَكُمۡ إِنَّمَا نَحۡنُ مُسۡتَہۡزِءُونَ (١٤)
And when they fall in with those who believe, they say: We believe; but when they go apart to their devils they declare: but we are with you; verily we did but mock.

They think to beguile Allah and those who believe, and they beguile none save themselves; but they perceive not. (9)

(فِى قُلُوبِهِم مَّرَضٌ۬ فَزَادَهُمُ ٱللَّهُ مَرَضً۬ا‌ۖ وَلَهُمۡ عَذَابٌ أَلِيمُۢ بِمَا كَانُواْ يَكۡذِبُونَ (١٠
In their hearts is a disease, and Allah increases their disease. A painful doom is theirs because they lie. (10)

Allah has sealed their hearing and their hearts, and on their eyes there is a covering. Theirs will be an great punishment,torment.

وَمِنَ ٱلنَّاسِ مَن يَقُولُ ءَامَنَّا بِٱللَّهِ وَبِٱلۡيَوۡمِ ٱلۡأَخِرِ وَمَا هُم بِمُؤۡمِنِينَ (٨)
And of mankind are some who say: we believe in Allah and in the Last Day: and they are not believers.

These depend on guidance from their Lord. These are the successful.

إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُواْ سَوَآءٌ عَلَيۡهِمۡ ءَأَنذَرۡتَهُمۡ أَمۡ لَمۡ تُنذِرۡهُمۡ لَا يُؤۡمِنُونَ (٦)
As for the Disbelievers, Whether you warn them or you warn them not it is all one for them; they believe not.

Lesson 2 (Week 2)
Now let's start from Surah Baqarah(Cow).
We are going to learn first two ayahs. There are 14 new words. If you learn two words per day, you can finish it within one week.

These are words for (2:2)

2	30(a)	الْكِتَابِ	- Book(Scripture)
2	31	لَا رَيْبَ	- no doubt, no suspicion

2	33	مُتَّقِيْنَ	- those who ward off evil, pious, God-fearing

Now let's construct the complete meaning of the Ayah.

ذَٲلِكَ ٱلۡڪِتَـٰبُ لَا رَيۡبَ‌ۛ فِيهِ‌ۛ هُدً۬ى لِّلۡمُتَّقِينَ
This is the Book(Scripture) within there is no doubt, a guidance unto those who ward off (evil).

These are words for (2:3)

3	36	وَ	- and

3	40	رَزَقْنَا	- We have provided, bestowed
3	41	نَا	- (Plurals=Pl.) We, Us, Our
3	42	هُمْ	- (Pl.)them, they, their
3	43	يُنْفِقُوْنَ	- they spend / distribute

Now let's construct the complete meaning of the Ayah.

ٱلَّذِينَ يُؤۡمِنُونَ بِٱلۡغَيۡبِ وَيُقِيمُونَ ٱلصَّلَوٰةَ وَمِمَّا رَزَقۡنَـٰهُمۡ يُنفِقُونَ (٣
Who believe in the Unseen, and establish worship, and spend of that We have bestowed upon them;
